What we do

Bedford Mencap is an independent registered charity (No. 218689)

 

We are an individual membership organisation, affiliated to the national organisation, Royal Mencap www.mencap.org.uk

 

We work closely with national and other local groups to ensure people with a learning disability and their families have support and information.

 

We always aim to work in partnership with people with a learning disability and all our services support people to live life as they choose. Our work is shaped by what our members tell us about their needs and wishes.

 

Bedford Mencap is responsible for:

• Sparkle Club – a social club for adults with learning disabilities
• Signpost Volunteers – advice and support for people with learning disabilities and their carers
• Summer Playscheme for children with learning disabilities
